Program Details
Put your name to cancer science.
Your contribution can make a difference
Given the potential of the cancer research lines developed by the team led by Dr. Osvaldo Podhajcer—and the challenge of funding the high costs associated with the various stages of scientific research—we invite you to sponsor a researcher at the Leloir Institute’s Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Therapy.
AFULIC’s sponsorship program invites you to connect with AFULIC officials and Dr. Osvaldo Podhajcer to learn more about the research lines led by the laboratory.
You have the opportunity to fund a monthly stipend to support team members, allowing them to focus their efforts on research without financial constraints. Sponsors will receive periodic progress reports on the research they are supporting.
The proposal offers the option for the fellowship to bear the name of the sponsor—whether an individual, family, or company.
Learn about the research
Dr. Osvaldo Podhajcer is one of Argentina’s most renowned researchers in the fields of translational oncology, gene therapy, and oncolytic immunotherapy. He is currently a Senior Researcher at CONICET and heads the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Therapy at the Leloir Institute Foundation.
His work focuses on translational research, specifically the design of novel biopharmaceuticals—which are effective and have fewer side effects than conventional treatments—and the use of genomics in precision medicine.
In recent years, his laboratory has reported promising preclinical results using oncolytic adenoviruses for metastatic colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal tumors, melanoma, gynecological tumors, and certain pediatric cancers.
The laboratory is staffed by top-tier CONICET researchers who lead highly innovative translational oncology projects with the potential to make a real impact on patients. AFULIC is committed to a cancer-free life and has been supporting the country's most prestigious translational oncology group for over 24 years—and you, too, can be a part of it.
