Fundación Ciencias Exactas y Naturales

The Fundación Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (Foundation for Exact and Natural Sciences) - FUNDACEN is a non-profit organization created and directed by graduates and researchers from the School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, a public university that is the 12th largest by enrollment in the world.

Since its creation in 1990, our Foundation seeks to serve the School of Exact and Natural Sciences (FCEN) of the University of Buenos Aires, offering administrative and financial support to the School, as well as comprehensive assistance to its students, professors, and researchers in general.


OBJECTIVES

- Reception and administration of donations to the FCEN, particularly from its alumni and private entities interested in fostering and supporting scientific and technological research, development and innovation.
- Allocate funds for undergrad scholarships, and for financial assistance for students and young researchers to attend conferences and other academic events.
- Manage projects of infrastructure and maintenance, or for equipment acquisition and installation, particularly channeling and managing donations or grants obtained to such end.
- Manage international research grants, and organize and execute contracts related to technology transfer.

    Olimpíada Argentina de Química

    El programa de Olimpíadas Argentinas de Química contribuye a mejorar las condiciones para la enseñanza de la Química en los niveles preuniversitarios de todo el país, fomentando la vocación científica y técnica dentro del campo de la química, generando lazos con uno de los principales centros de formación e investigación del país. Cada año participan de la competencia nacional más de 2000 estudiantes de colegios secundarios y destacan nuestros equipos en las competencias internacionales alcanzando lugares de premiación.

    Exactas ATP

    EXACTAS ATP is a program of continuous action for strengthening and enhancing the teaching and research activities of the Faculty. Created as all-round plan, its purpose is to generate and guarantee adequate conditions for accompanying educational and work trajectories through action on three strategic areas: structural works and services; improvements in accessibility and in daily life, and sustainability. The program will make it possible to strengthen human resources, equipment and infrastructure for teaching, research and development, and innovation, and, consequently, will have an impact on improving the living conditions of the population of our country, of the possibilities of the socio-productive sector and State policies, through linkage and transfer.     The Institute of Biosciences, Biotechnology and Translational Biology (iB3) of the University of Buenos Aires, together with the Argentine Patient Alliance (ALAPA), promote scholarships for motivated students to carry out the initiation, learning and training in scientific research related to rare diseases.

    The Computer Science Department (Departamento de Computación, DC) of the School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, is world-wide recognized as a reference center for education and research in Computer Science. It has more than 50 years of experience generating highly trained professionals and research of excellence. Through FUNDACEN, the Department has a permanent channel for receiving and efficiently managing donations, under the direction of the Department authorities, dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure and equipment, and providing additional support for academic activities.
