Why volunteer?

A kid from acommunity center in Mataderos InsightArgentina is the HelpArgentina volunteer program that facilitates the connection between international volunteers and Argentine non profit organizations. This innovative volunteer program is primarily focused on enriching volunteer experiences that provide invaluable support to a network of Argentine organizations.

Through a unique blend of intercultural solidarity and community service, InsightArgentina's goals are thus twofold: to facilitate an educational international experience that builds awareness for Argentine social issues for its participants and that assists local organizations in all areas of their development.

These programs can be as basic as a short-term volunteer placement service (one-month minimum), or can involve a long term placement that combines the volunteer experience with a customized language program, private, shared, or homestay,housing and opportunities for travel in Argentina. Volunteers may also receive academic credit for this experience.

Note: InsightArgentina works hard to provide volunteers with opportunites for affordable housing as well as quality language programs.

Volunteering is a motivating experience, and volunteers generally choose to continue helping their host-organizations even after they return to their countries of origin. HelpArgentina and its volunteer program therefore promote the formation of an international community of Social Ambassadors who are committed to social causes and organizations in Argentina.

Volunteer Profile

Xavier with a kid from a community center InsightArgentina offers its programs to civic-minded individuals who seek to experience Argentina in a non-conventional and socially engaging way. Program participants come from all countries, races, and ethnic groups and often vary between university students, young adults, professionals, or retired citizens. Participants must be 18 years of age.

We focus on the following elements to ensure a mutually beneficial experience:

Identifying candidate skill sets and expertise.
Identifying the needs of the host organization.
Establishing good matches between the two.
Providing all necessary information and training before the start of the program.
Routine site visits.
An extensive evaluation process that ensures the continual improvement of the quality of our programs.

Achievements

In its first 2 years, InsightArgentina has placed more than 250 volunteers from 15 different countries around the world in more than 20 Argentine non profit organizations.
