Jonathan's Testimony"I look back on working at the Comedor as one of the happiest, if not the happiest, times of my life. I left each day feeling that I had made a difference in these kids lives as they did the same for me", says Jonathan, who volunteered in Northwest Argentina last June. |

Giulia's testimony"I think Gémina is an exceptional organization, it has been an honor to work for and with them: brave and involved women, great projects and a warm welcome towards me", says Giulia, who spent two months volunteering with them in Santa Fe. |
Sarah's testimony "The further our rickety bus went from Tartagal, the deeper we traveled into the sparse, dusty landscape of El Chaco and I realized I was immersed in an Argentina which entirely contrasted with everything I had experienced previously. As we approached La Estrella, young bare-footed, smiling faces appeared from nowhere and chased the bus into the village." Sarah tells us her wonderful experience in an indigenous community in Salta. Alice's testimonyOn a personal level, the six weeks here made a huge impact on me. Like the school, I am 25 years old and to see the result of 25 years of work started by a group of young people who are still working towards their original vision today was very inspiring for me. |
Regina's testimony "These children were some of the happiest kids I’ve ever been around. I was lucky that they let me into their world and shared with me the wonders of the river, the stars and their nighttime gatherings around the fire. I often didn’t understand what they were saying, but our smiles and laughs communicated almost everything", says Regina, who volunteered in the indigenous community of La Estrella. Sophie's Testimony"I immensely enjoyed working with that organization. The staff and other volunteers worked effectively as a team, and the environment was relaxed and playful. About half of the people I worked with were volunteers like me", says Sophie, who volunteered in an arts organization during June 2007. |
Anna's testimony"I think our group probably ended up getting more out of our experience in Tigre with the architect, the nuns, and the residents of the community, than we were able to give back", Anna tells us her experience with a group from UVA. "I was matched up with a small NGO that promotes environmental consciousness.(...) Like all not-for-profits, they wanted help with fundraising. But rather than change the organization, I've been changed myself. I've become much more flexible in how I work with others and approach challenges. And for that, I have my new relationships to thank." Steve volunteered in this organization from August 2006 until June 2007.
