In Argentina, 41.8% of the population over 15 years of age did not finish primary school. Educational institutions function daily with a shortage of books, with outdated editions or with copies in bad condition. Experience shows that it is impossible to incentivize children and young people to learn without books suited to different ages and cultures and without adults committed to helping. Thanks to the support of donors, Fundación Leer was able to create 1100 Reading Corners in low-income areas in Argentina. With your donation, we can update a Reading Corner with new books and electronic training bulletins.

Fundación Gente Nueva runs ten free private schools in four working class neighborhoods in Bariloche that serve students with social or educational deficiencies. They offer innovative educational projects and other complementary services such as tutoring, food and medical attention. However, the majority of the schools are in need of basic furnishings.
One urgent need is the acquisition of school desks and chairs to furnish at least four classrooms. Each set, including desk and chair, costs approximately AR$380.
