Health care and Nutrition

Buenos Aires

HIV/AIDS organization: This is an Argentine organization which since 1989 has worked tirelessly in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Our philosophy is that HIV/AIDS is not only an infectious disease but also an important social challenge requiring support from the entire community for those living with the disease.

Pre-Med or Medical students are needed for research and health prevention and education projects. Volunteers need to have an advanced level of Spanish.

Mendoza

Malnutrition Prevention: This organization aims to eradicate malnutrition in Argentina beginning in Mendoza to later expand it to Latin America and the rest of the World. They work with two centers: the Recovery Centre for Infant Malnutrition and the Prevention Centre for Infant Malnutrition. In the first one, hospitalization is offered for the kids; the second one is a prevention centre where the whole family receives an integral attention.

Volunteers can help in many different areas of the organization. Pre-Med, medical students, social workers, psychologists, pediatricians, nutritionists, etc. Volunteers might work in Mendoza and in other centers throughout Argentina (Buenos Aires, Misiones, Córdoba, etc.)
