Main Objective: To achieve better and faster integration of deaf children to a common school, since learning processes are realized more easily at an early age.

Padrinos

Ensure that all deaf children have access to specialized education offered by the Colegio Las Lomas Oral.

Goals:

To make it possible that hearing-handicapped children handle themselves with confidence and dignity in everyday life, giving them a full education based on an oral-auditory philosophy.

Objectives:

We strive to enable the children to develop language and the hearing capacity that are required for entry into the common school and the subsequent adaptation.

Programs:

We work on five educational levels, adapted to the age and evolution of each student: Early stimulation, Toddlers, Kindergarten, Primary Education and Mainstreaming.
In addition to the traditional levels, we organize different activities and services that turn teaching and learning into a more dynamic and enjoyable process:

• Drama classes
• Art workshops
• Religion (optional)
• Virtual library

We have a team of devoted specialized teachers and speech-and-language therapists, who are constantly being trained in order to offer our students an integrated and personalized education.

The “Colegio Las Lomas Oral” organized the “9na Noche Solidaria”, a fundraising event to benefit the Scholarship Fund for children that come from low-income families. In this event participate around 800 people, 276 companies donate us their collaboration, 60 volunteers helped, 30 famous actors got our shirts, and 146 people collaborated with us. Thanks to all of them cover 40 scholarships for 2010.The “Colegio Las Lomas Oral” has been honored with the award “Institución Destacada” that delivers the Martinez Rotary. They appreciated the trajectory, the methodology of work, the results and the commitment to their community. Ombu Foundation of Holland made a bike ride to benefit the students of Las Lomas Oral. Thanks to the participation of a lot of the people and volunteers, the funds will help the education of our children.
