6th National Reading Marathon
The National Reading Marathon took place October 3rd 2008, with the motto: Reading is an in adventure without borders-Take a chance and discover new worlds, joined 3,500,000 children around the world.
Through the National Reading Marathon, which has no subscription fees, Fundación Leer tries to massively highlight around the country the importance of reading, in a festive environment that promotes reading: a necessary skill for individual and collective development.
The day of the Marathon, children around the country, along with their teachers, families, volunteers, and other community members, gathered by the institution they belong to, get together in one place to spend a couple of hours reading and listening to stories and poetry; they share reading, and enjoy the different activities such as drama, and puppet shows, according to personal preferences.
DONATE NOW and HELP US so that the 7th National Reading Marathon in 2009 more children and more institutions discover the pleasure of reading. http://maraton.leer.org/
