HelpArgentina

HelpArgentina is a nonprofit organization that helps international donors identify and support high impact nonprofits within Argentina.  Our goal is to strengthen the nonprofits working to make a difference in Argentina, to increase confidence in the Argentine nonprofit sector and to promote the culture of giving among Argentines.

We use strict criteria to evaluate local non-profits for transparency and impact, and provide a secure and efficient infrastructure to deliver donations and grants to these organizations. As a 501c3 public charity, donations made through HelpArgentina are tax deductible in the United States.

How We Make a Difference:

  • We use our deep understanding of the critical social issues in Argentina to identify the organizations that are highly effective in addressing these issues.
  • We invite organizations that meet our standards for best practice and transparency to join our network. By partnering with a diverse range of charitable organizations, we assure that donors can support the causes that matter to them - from education to hunger, from el Norte to Patagonia, we can help you support the causes that you care about.
  • We provide information and services that help both individuals and institutions identify organizations and causes that align with their interests – our website provides detailed information about our member organizations and offers a secure, easy to use platform for online donations.
  • We offer customized services to help you make the most of your giving - tell us what you want to support and we can identify options, facilitate the donation, monitor progress and report the results.
  • We create unique volunteer experiences for international volunteers who want to offer their time and skills to the non-profit organizations that in our network

International fundraising support services

This program facilitates the efforts of Argentine nonprofits to obtain resources and support from international donors and promotes standards of transparency and best practice among argentine nonprofits.  Organizations are rigorously evaluated to establish that they meet US regulations for receiving international grants from US donors.  Organizations that want to join the HelpArgentina network must also meet additional standards for transparency, best practice and social impact.  Evaluation of a nonprofit may be initiated at the request of an organization or at the request of a donor.  Once approved, organizations have access to an efficient international donation processing system to support their fundraising efforts.  Under this program, the organizations which receive funding from HelpArgentina are also required to provide an annual accounting for the use of the funds granted, which is complied and reported back to donors.

Community Engagement and Donor Services

This program provides services and advice to international donors interested in specific social issues in Argentina or in supporting argentine nonprofit organizations.  These services include identification of giving alternatives that align with a donor's specific charitable objectives, project management services for donors who want to implement unique projects and impact assessment of grants.  This program is also actively engaged in promoting philanthropy among the international argentine expat community and in motivating increased engagement among that community with the argentine social sector

InsightArgentina: International Volunteer Program

This program provides international volunteers with the opportunity to offer their unique skills to social sector organizations in Argentina.  Customized volunteer placements with one of HelpArgentina's member organizations are designed based on an applicant's experiences and areas of interest.  This program provides invaluable human resource support to the nonprofit organizations, and also an enriching experience to the volunteers.

Celebrate the Bicentennial.
Be part of change.  Get involved with the Argentine Social Sector.

HelpArgentina launched the 200 Campaign to encourage Argentines, in the year of the bicentennial, to reflect on the evolving social realities in their country and on the possibility of changing that reality.  We want to raise awareness among the expatriate Argentine community about the opportunity to become actively involved in supporting the projects and organizations working to address the critical social issues that confront the country.

The goal of the campaign is to double the funds that were provided to the Argentine social sector through HelpArgentina in 2009.  We want you to be part of our goal of raising US$1.5 million in 2010.

With the support of diaspora organizations, groups of argentine employees in international and american corporations, and argentine alumni of prominent universities, HelpArgentina invites all those that believe a different future is possible to join in this initiative.  Be an advocate of change.  Get involved.  Let's work together to reshape reality.

Donate to our organizations and projects. We have a network of more than 60 member organizations that, together with HelpArgentina, have mobilized more than 3.5 million dollars since 2003.

We appreciate your help in spreading this initiative.
