HelpArgentina: A bridge to the Argentine Social Sector

HelpArgentina is a nonprofit organization that helps international donors identify and support high impact nonprofits within Argentina. Our goal is to strengthen the nonprofits working to make a difference in Argentina, to increase confidence in the Argentine nonprofit sector and to promote the culture of giving among Argentines.

We use strict criteria to evaluate local non-profits for transparency and impact, and provide a secure and efficient infrastructure to deliver donations and grants to these organizations. As a 501c3 public charity, donations made through HelpArgentina are tax deductible in the United States.

How we achieve our Goals:

We use our deep understanding of the critical social issues in Argentina to identify the organizations that are highly effective in addressing these issues.

We invite organizations that meet our standards for best practice and transparency to join our network. By partnering with a diverse range of charitable organizations, we assure that donors can support the causes that matter to them - from education to hunger, from el Norte to Patagonia, we can help you support the causes that you care about.

We provide information and advice that helps both individuals and institutions identify the organizations and causes that align with their interests – our website provides detailed information about our member organizations and offers a secure, easy to use platform for online donations.

We offer customized services to help you make the most of your giving - tell us what you want to support and we can identify options, facilitate the donation, monitor progress and report the results.

We create unique volunteer experiences for international volunteers who want to offer their time and skills to the non-profit organizations in our network

Since 2003, we have channeled more than US$4 million in donations to social organizations in Argentina

Services Offered to Social Investors

For individual donors

We identify and assess opportunities for high-impact social investment according to a donor´s personal objectives
We offer a network of preapproved member organizations , and also evaluate organizations outside of our network that have been identified by donors to assure that they meet the requirements needed to receive donations under U.S. law
We offer project administration services which allow donors to support projects which align with their specific goals. These services include: designing project selection criteria, fundraising support, funds administration, project monitoring and impact evaluation.
We provide a safe, secure system to process international donations -accepting donations in the form of cash, personal checks, electronic transfers, credit card, and stocks and bonds.
We maintain total confidentiality regarding to the identity of donors if a donor indicates that they would not like to make their support public
We keep donors informed as to the impact of their social investment

For companies

We identify and assess community investment alternatives that meet with the company’s strategic objectives
We analyze the needs and issues facing the local communities in which a businesses operates and work to promote interaction with the key stakeholders.
We support the design and implementation of community investment projects
We monitor the progress and evaluate the results of social investments.
We offer opportunities to include employees in the process of selecting social investments by developing selections processes that allow employees to We help establish and support programs for employee donations and corporate volunteering.

For International Volunteers

We offer volunteers highly personalized experiences working with non-profit organizations in Argentina
We work to ensure an experience that is valuable for both the volunteer and the organization
We cultivate long-term relationships between the organization and the volunteers after they have returned to their home countries.

How HelpArgentina is financed

The organization is financed by commissions generated through the administration of funds and grants, philanthropic consulting services, individual donations, and grants from international foundations.

HelpArgentina’s fee structure for processing funds is as follows:
1. Donations to HelpArgentina’s Member Organizations: 5% plus transfer costs
2. Donations to organizations that are not members of HelpArgentina: 6.5% plus transfer costs
3. Administration of Projects and Grants: the cost is determined in accordance with the particular situation (investment, complexity, geographic location, etc).
