How could I describe my 2 months in Argentina? The best experience of my life: fantastic people, a welcoming country, a satisfactory job for an NGO that deserves all my respect.
First of all HA staff has always been kind, helpful and efficient. I think the guys of HA who work on the Volunteer Program are doing an excelent job.
Second, I was lucky in finding an excelent accommodation: a small and cosy hostel, in the centre of the city, with a kind staff, always available for every kind of need; the perfect place for living the experience in a new (and at least in my case unknown) country in the most simple and serene way, besides giving the opportunity of easily meeting new friends.
At last, the most important thing for me, the host organization. I think Gémina is an exceptional organization, it has been an honor to work for and with them: brave and involved women, great projects and a warm welcome towards me.
Yamile, especially, the girl from Gémina who followed and helped me in the project, is just fantastic: kind to me, terribly smart, involved, for me an example to admire and imitate.
Because of my studies my job has been more theoretical than practical, an investigation on a topic very interesting to me: reproductive rights and abortion in Argentina, Latin America and Italy. Actually, this kind of research activity is what I would like to do in the future, as a job.
Then, what else could I ask to my experience here? I've felt useful, doing something I was interested in and moreover learning new things.
I really hope to go on working with Gémina and, sooner or later, to have the chance to come back to Argentina.
