Diversify to grow - Greenhouse construction

Close to 30% of households in Patagonia fall below the poverty line. With $1000 you can construct a greenhouse and offer a family in poverty the possibility of providing for themselves and starting a microenterprise.
Inhabitants of rural communities in Patagonia, live mainly from small cattle breeding – which they use to obtain meat and wool -. This activity generates small profits and restricts their diet, bringing negative consequences in the development of this people.

To revert this situation and reinforce their diet as well as the rural families´ economies, improving quality of live generally speaking, our Rural Development Area brings villagers, diversity and production improvement proposals. With better infrastructure, tools and supply provision as well as constant technical assistance, we work in the frame of a sustainable agriculture, preserving local biodiversity.

With a USD 34 per month contribution you can help us buy materials and supplies to build a polyethylene greenhouse. Constructing greenhouses and working on orchard projects allow rural families to incorporate fruit and vegetables to their diets and improve the nutritional quality of their meals. It also develops their economy by selling the surplus.
