From the time she was studying physical education teachers found that he could unite his vocation as a teacher, his career as an athlete and love that you build relationships with young special.

The Foundation:

- Holds seven schools in which more than 400 students practice paddle, hockey, tennis, soccer, basketball, sports initiation and running. At different locations, Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata and Salta, physical-education teachers are trained in special sport-supported teaching materials are specifically designed for each sport.

"Many years ago, while studying physical education, I participated in a race of young people with varying capacities; they asked me to be a "hugger". The task was simple: I had to look at one of the runners in the eye throughout the whole race, in order to prevent him from getting distracted and getting him to run straight to me. And that's what I did. I looked at the young man who was standing at the start line. I opened by arms wide. And I started calling him, spurring him to come towards me. I was with him every step of the way, without ever taking my eyes off him. He looked at me and smiled, and he ran fast. And I felt that he was dying to get to the finish line. He ran because his triumph, for him, meant being enveloped in my arms. When he got to the finish line, I hugged him so tight, me heart gave a shudder. And from that shudder, a great joy was born, one of those joys that is rarely felt in life, even bigger than the one I felt when I got my third title as world paddle champion. Such joy prompted me to arrive to a decision: whenever I could, I would try to spill onto special children everything that sports had to give me." Words by Cecilia Baccigalupo, president of the Foundation
